Mary and I spent the weekend at Lake Almanor with friends. We had a great time visiting and taking a couple of road trips with lots of beautiful scenery. Saturday we went into the Drakesbad area of Lassen Volcanic National Park. Jay and I walked into Boiling Springs Lake. This photo is the edge of a mud pot that was not too active.
I shot this with a 200mm lens so I didn't have to get so close as to fall through the fragile crust and be boiled myself.
