Last weekend while we were in Lake Almanor (the town not the lake itself) we were greeted with hundreds of brilliant maple trees in reds, yellows, and orange. The hard part for a photographer was to isolate a tree or limb against a green background and not a house. Those people seem to feel the need to plant their colorful trees in front of the windows of the houses. It was way more colorful in the sub-divisions than any we found growing wild though.
